Our Team
Tim Acton is a Clinical Psychologist with over 40 years’ experience in assessing and treating trauma-related disorders in both NHS and private settings. Tim has maintained a long-standing interest in Personal Construct Psychology (PCP) since his undergraduate work on the Sociality Corollary. Trained in Cognitive Therapy, he can see how PCP and cognitive approaches help clients make sense of trauma, “challenge” invalidating personal constructs, and reconstruct safer, more coherent worldviews.

Viv Burr is Emerita Professor of Critical Social Psychology at the University of Huddersfield, UK. She has taught Personal Construct Psychology to students for many years and has published widely on the subject, including ‘Invitation to Personal Construct Psychology’, with Trevor Butt.

David Winter is Professor Emeritus of Clinical Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. Sherin Jackson worked as a Clinical Psychologist AFBpS and PCP psychotherapist UKCP for twenty years in the NHS. She later completed a PhD “Self/Other Construing in Children and Adolescents” using the PCP approach and continued to work for a further twenty years using PCP techniques to assess children and families in difficulty for the Court.
She is committed to PCP, finding it useful over the years as well as currently and is delighted to see the links between the Quakers and Kelly’s approach to life.
Thea Gavril is a Clinical Psychologist with a developing specialisation in Integrative Psychotherapy. She has completed the Health Psychology Master’s programme at the University of Bucharest, where she cultivated a strong interest in the relationship between health, meaning-making, and psychological well-being.
Thea has a particular interest in Personal Construct Psychology (PCP), having completed both the Personal Construct Psychology and Counselling course offered jointly by the University of Padua and the University of Hertfordshire, and the PCP Foundation Course in Coventry.
Former members
Richard Casebow practices as a PCP psychotherapist and is an Alexander Technique teacher in Edinburgh. He has an interest in inter-personal relations and movement.
Advisory Associate
Dennis Bury was a Chartered Psychologist, CBT and PCP Psychotherapist, and was interested in science journalism.
Dennis had an Instrumental Constructivist outlook and believed PCP tools, perspectives and skills are helpful for all helping and healing professions,
